The Hollywood Film Festival honored the feature films "Villa des Roses" and "Everyone Loves Alice" with the awards "Best Feature" and "Best European Feature," respectively. "Villa des Roses," a Belgian production directed by Frank Van Passel is set in Paris and centers around a beautiful boarding house maid and the turbulent love affair she sparks, and the drama "Everyone Loves Alice," a Swedish production written and directed by Richard Hobert, is a contemporary tale of family relationships and the effects of a split-up on the children.
The Hollywood Film Festival was founded in 1997 by Carlos de Abreu and Janice Pennington, "New York Times" best-selling authors and producers. Regarding the conclusion of the 6th annual festival, Mr. de Abreu said, "We are delighted by the response we have received from Hollywood and the independent filmmaking community during the course of this past week. Our conferences were well-attended and our screenings were packed. We had over 25,000 attendees and last night's gala awards ceremony was truly an extraordinary 'Hollywood' moment."
