DREW BARRYMORE - WINNER HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS OF THE YEAR AWARD
Drew Barrymore has been a successful actress for most of her life. She made her screen debut in Altered States in 1980, and the following year she appeared in Steven Spielberg's hit ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, which brought acclaim and fame to her at the age of 6. Ms. Barrymore went on to star in films such as Firestarter, Irreconcilable Differences (for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress) and Cat's Eye. Other film credits include Gun Crazy (earning her another Golden Globe nomination), Poison Ivy, Bad Girls, Boys on the Side, Mad Love, Batman Forever, Everyone Says I Love You, Scream, The Wedding Singer, Ever After, and Home Fries. Currently she stars in the romantic comedy Never Been Kissed, which she also executive produced.
ANGELA BASSETT
Angela Bassett received an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award for her strong performance as Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do With It.. Since then she has starred in such hit films as Waiting to Exhale, Strange Days, Vampire in Brooklyn, Malcolm X, and How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Other film roles include F/X, Kindergarten Cop, Boyz N the Hood, Innocent Blood, Panther and Passion Fish. Ms. Bassett trained at Yale University, after which she appeared on stage, receiving critical acclaim for her performances in the Broadway productions of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and Joe Turner's Come and Gone, and in Joseph Papp's production of Henry IV, Part I. Ms. Bassett's work for television includes appearances in the series 227, The Cosby Show, thirtysomething, Tour of Duty, Equal Justice, and Storytime, which earned her an Emmy nomination.
HALLE BERRY
Originally from Ohio, Halle Berry began her career on television, including a recurring role on the long-running TV series Knots Landing. She made her feature film debut in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever, giving a remarkable performance as a street-wise crack addict. She also starred in the motion pictures Strictly Business, The Last Boy Scout, Boomerang, Losing Isaiah, Race the Sun, The Flintstones, B A P S, Executive Decision and The Rich Man's Wife. Most recently Ms. Berry has starred in the TV mini-series The Wedding, and the feature films Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Bulworth, and Victims of Fashion.
ANGELINA JOLIE Angelina Jolie's most recent films include Pushing Tin and Playing by Heart, for which she was awarded the Breakthrough Performance award by The National Board of Review. Prior to that, she starred in the title role of the critically praised HBO film Gia and she received a Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of the supermodel who died of AIDS. Ms. Jolie also won a Golden Globe Award and received Emmy and CableAce nominations for her role in director John Frankenheimer's George Wallace. Her other credits include such films as Without Evidence, Hackers, Mojave Moon, Foxfire, and Love Is All There Is. Ms. Jolie is the daughter of Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight, and she trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute.
JENNIFER LOPEZ
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Ms. Lopez started as a dancer in stage musicals and music videos and has worked in both television and film. She began her entertainment career in 1990 after winning a national competition for a position as a "Fly Girl" on Fox's hit TV series In Living Color. Soon after she appeared in other television series, including South Central, Second Chance and Hotel Malibu. Ms. Lopez's breakthrough role in film was the lead in Selena which brought her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Her film work includes appearing in the film Money Train opposite Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, and in the hit comedy Jack, starring Robin Williams and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. She also starred in the crime drama Blood and Wine, with Jack Nicholson and Stephen Dorff, the action-adventure Anaconda and with Nick Nolte and Sean Penn in Oliver Stone's U-Turn. Upcoming projects include the sci-fi comedy Pluto Nash with Eddie Murphy.
GWYNETH PALTROW
Gwyneth Paltrow won the Oscar in 1999 for Best Actress for her performance in the award-winning hit film Shakespeare in Love. The daughter of producer Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner, Ms Paltrow began acting in the theater, then made her film debut in Shout with John Travolta and was subsequently cast in Steven Spielberg's The Hook. Her recent film work includes The Pallbearer, Emma, Great Expectations, and A Perfect Murder, among others.

JACKIE CHAN - WINNER HOLLYWOOD ACTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
Mr. Chan is not only an internationally famous actor but also a director, writer, producer, and stuntman who entralls audiences with his stunts. Born in Hong Kong in 1954, Mr. Chan was apprenticed to the Peking Opera when he was a child and trained rigorously in music, dance, and martial arts. His films include New Fist of Fury, The Young Master, The Big Brawl, The Cannonball Run, Winners and Sinners, Dragon Fist, Police Story, Twin Dragons, Supercop, City Hunter, Dead Heat, Rumble in the Bronx, Mr. Nice Guy, First Strike and Rush Hour.
CUBA GOODING, JR. Cuba Gooding, Jr., the son of a musician, was born in the Bronx, New York. He has worked on stage, in film, and in television. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance opposite Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. Mr. Gooding made his film debut as the star of writer/director John Singleton's drama Boyz N The Hood in 1991, for which he earned rave reviews and an NAACP Image Award. Mr. Gooding was featured next in A Few Good Men, and was honored as the NATO/Showest 1992 "Newcomer of the Year" for his performance. His other screen credits include Gladiator, Judgement Night, Lightning Jack, Losing Isaiah, Outbreak, As Good As It Gets, What Dreams May Come, A Murder of Crows, and Instinct.
IAN McKELLEN
Sir Ian McKellen was born in England in 1939 and developed an interest in the theater at an early age. His long and distinguished career on stage, in film and on television includes his Academy Award nominated performance in Gods and Monsters, as well as work in such films as Six Degrees of Separation, Last Action Hero, The Shadow, I'll Do Anything, Restoration, Thin Ice, Jack and Sarah, Richard III, Rasputin (TV), Swept from the Sea, Bent, and Apt Pupil, among others.
NICK NOLTE
Mr. Nolte, originally from Nebraska, began his career in regional theater. He landed a role in the TV miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man in 1976, and then made his feature film debut in The Deep, opposite Jacqueline Bisset. Well known for his roles in comedies and action films like 48 Hours and Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Mr. Nolte has also received acclaim for his dramatic roles, including critical praise for his work in Lorenzo's Oil, in The Prince of Tides, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Golden Globe for Best Actor, and Affliction for which he was nominated for an Academy Award. Mr. Nolte has starred in such other films as Martin Scorsese's Cape Fear, with Robert De Niro and Jessica Lange, I Love Trouble, opposite Julia Roberts, I'll Do Anything, Mulholland Falls, Mother Night, based on the Kurt Vonnegut novel, Oliver Stone's U-Turn, Nightwatch, and The Best of Enemies, among others. His earlier film work includes roles in Who'll Stop the Rain, North Dallas Forty, Heart Beat, Cannery Row, Under Fire, Extreme Prejudice and Weeds.
EDWARD NORTON
Mr. Norton began his career in the theater, and is on the Board of the New York Signature Theatre Company, with which he first performed in the 1994 premiere of Edward Albee's Fragments. His film career began in 1996 with the film Everyone Says I Love You, and he has since received nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor Academy Awards for American History X and Primal Fear. His other film work includes The People vs. Larry Flynt, Rounders, and the upcoming films Fight Club and Keeping the Faith, which he plans to direct and produce as well.
BILLY BOB THORNTON
Mr. Thornton is an actor, writer, and director. In 1997 he won the Oscar for Best Writing for Sling Blade, and he has received nominations for Best Actor (Sling Blade) and Best Supporting Actor (A Simple Plan) from the Academy as well. Some of Mr. Thornton's other feature film credits are Hunter's Blood, Going Overboard, For the Boys, Trouble Bound, The Killing Box, Bound By Honor, Indecent Proposal, The Apostle, U-Turn, Homegrown, A Simple Plan, A Gun, a Car, a Blonde, Primary Colors, Armageddon, and Pushing Tin, among others. As a writer, Mr. Thornton has worked on numerous projects for United Artists, Miramax, Universal, Warner Bros., Touchstone, Island Pictures, David Geffen Productions and HBO. He has also appeared on television, including a regular role on the CBS comedy series Hearts Afire and the Fox series The Outsiders.
