EDITOR THELMA SCHOONMAKER TO RECEIVE THE
"HOLLYWOOD OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN EDITING AWARD"

Academy Award Winning Editor of "Raging Bull" Thelma Schoonmaker
To Be Honored August 7, 2000,
At The Hollywood Film Awards Gala Ceremony
Hollywood, CA -- June 2, 2000 -- The 4th Annual Hollywood Film Festival has announced that distinguished editor Thelma Schoonmaker, winner of the Best Editor Oscar® for "Raging Bull" as well as Academy Award nominations for "Woodstock" and "Goodfellas," will be honored with the festival's "Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Editing Award." The announcement was made today by Carlos de Abreu, Founder and Executive Director of the Hollywood Film Festival.
Regarding the announcement, Mr. de Abreu states "Ms. Schoonmaker's body of work is a demonstration of excellence. Her outstanding vision, talent and command of her craft have made her one of Hollywood's most accomplished and highly regarded editors.
The "Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Editing Award" will be bestowed upon Ms. Schoonmaker as part of the Hollywood Film Awards Gala Ceremony on Monday evening, August 7, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Ms. Schoonmaker's films include director Martin Scorsese's first feature, "Who's That Knocking at My Door?" "Woodstock," "Raging Bull," "The King of Comedy," "After Hours," "The Color of Money," "The Last Temptation of Christ," "Life Lessons," "Goodfellas," "Cape Fear," "The Age of Innocence," "Casino," and "Kundun."
In addition to her Oscar® and multiple Academy nominations, Ms. Schoonmaker is also the recipient of two BAFTA awards for "Raging Bull" and "Goodfellas."
