HOLLYWOOD FEST REELS OFF NOMINEES
Hollywood Film Festival chairman Earl Lestz revealed the nominees Monday morning for Hollywood move, actress and actor of the year for the festival's awards. Lestz, also president of Paramount Studios Group, made the announcement at the Paramount lot in Hollywood.
The six film nominees were distributed by six different companies, with a mix of indie and mainstream fare. "Blow," "Bridget Jones's Diary," "Memento," "Moulin Rouge," "Pearl Harbor" and "Shrek" were nominated to receive the highest honor at the fifth annual awards presentation.
Actress nominees include last year's winner, Angelina Jolie. Rounding out the list are Kate Beckinsale, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore and Renee Zellweger.
The actor nominees are Johnny Depp, Colin Firth, Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley, Ewan McGregor and Guy Pearce. Russell Crowe won the honor last year.
Winners will be announced Aug. 6 at the Hollywood Movie Awards gala ceremony at the Beverly Hilton. The Hollywood Reporter is among the event's sponsors. Details: (310) 288-1882.
