PRODUCTION DESIGNER DANTE FERRETTI
TO RECEIVE HOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL'S
"HOLLYWOOD PRODUCTION DESIGNER
OF THE YEAR AWARD" AT FESTIVAL'S
11TH ANNUAL AWARDS PRESENTATION, OCT. 22

HOLLYWOOD, CA, July 18, 2007 -- Academy Award-winning Production Designer Dante Ferretti will receive the Hollywood Film Festival's "Hollywood Production Designer of the Year Award" at the Festival's October 22 awards ceremony.

His selection was determined for his distinguished body of work by a recommendation of the Council of the Art Directors Guild (ADG).

Ferretti received his Oscar® for the production design on "The Aviator" in 2005. Ferretti received another six Academy Award nominations for his work on "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" (1988), "Hamlet" (1990), "The Age of Innocence" (1993), "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles" (1994), "Kundun" (1997), and "Gangs of New York" (2002).

The award will be presented to Ferretti during the Festival's black-tie awards ceremony banquet before a gathering of 1,200 industry and guild executives, stars, celebrities, filmmakers and media at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Previous recipients of the Festival's Production Designer honors are Stuart Craig, William Creber, Robert Boyle, Henry Bumstead, Grant Major, Harold Michelson and John Myhre.

Ferretti recently served as Production Designer on DreamWorks' upcoming "Sweeney Todd."

He won three British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) for "The Aviator," "Interview with the Vampire," and "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen." He has been nominated for three Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards for his work on "The Aviator," "Gangs of New York," and "Titus" (1999). Among his other production designer credits are "The Black Dahlia" (2006), "Cold Mountain" (2003), "Meet Joe Black" (1998), and "Casino" (1995).

The 2007 Annual Hollywood Film Festival will take place from October 16 to 22. The Festival's screenings take place at ArcLight Theatres in Hollywood. Its Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Monday, October 22.
