Hollywood, CA -- September 15, 2005 -- The Hollywood Film Festival's September 18 Opening Night Gala Screening will be Warner Bros. Pictures and Silver Pictures' action comedy thriller "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang," the Festival's Board of Advisors has announced. Written and directed by Shane Black ("The Last Boy Scout," "Lethal Weapon"), "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" stars Robert Downey Jr. as Harry Lockhart, a petty thief who is brought to Los Angeles for an unlikely audition and finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation, along with his high school dream girl (Michelle Monaghan) and a detective (Val Kilmer) who has been training him for his upcoming role.
"We are very proud to open the 9th Annual Hollywood Film Festival with Shane Black's 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang' and thrilled to be working with both Warner Bros. Pictures and Silver Pictures," festival founder Carlos de Abreu said.
Directed by Shane Black, "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" is a Silver Pictures production produced by Joel Silver from a screen story and screenplay by Shane Black. The executive producers are Susan Levin and Steve Richards. Carrie Morrow is the co-producer. The director of photography is Michael Barrett; the production designer is Aaron Osborne; the film is edited by Jim Page; and the music is by John Ottman.
The 2005 Annual Hollywood Film Festival will take place from October 18 to 24. The Festival's screenings will take place at Arclight Theatres in Hollywood, and its Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday, October 24.
