HOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL®
KICKS OFF RACE TO OSCARS®

Hollywood Film Festival® and Hollywood Awards®
Set Pace for Oscar® Race

Hollywood, CA -- June 25, 2003 -- In their seventh year, the Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards announce their call for entries and new dates.

"We are very excited to be having our seventh annual festival and awards from October 15th to the 20th," Executive Director Carlos de Abreu announced.

"Because we are an international competitive event, we are committed, more than ever, to implementing our mandate: bridging the gap between established Hollywood and the global creative community. In addition, because of the new Oscar® dates, we are very excited that we are becoming a recognized launchpad for Oscar® contenders. We will be able to provide an important platform for both independent and Hollywood studio films," de Abreu said.

To reaffirm their commitment to quality filmmaking, the annual festival and the European Union Commission have aligned to focus on celebrating Euro cinema. They will jointly present the "European Film Showcase" and the "Hollywood European Film Award," which will be bestowed during the fest's annual awards ceremony.

The Hollywood Film Festival kicks off October 15 for a six-day series of screenings, conferences, and special presentations with Q/A sessions at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood. On October 20, the festival culminates with the prestigious Hollywood Awards®, which honors both established Hollywood talent and emerging filmmakers.
