AND THE NOMINEES ARE...

Hollywood Film Festival Announces the Nominees
for the 2003 Hollywood Movie, Actor, Actress,
Supporting Actor & Supporting Actress
of the Year Awards

Hollywood, CA -- September 23, 2003 -- The Hollywood Film Festival's Board of Advisors has announced the nominees for the 2003 "Hollywood Movie of the Year Awards" competition. The announcement was made today in Hollywood by Carlos de Abreu, Founder and Executive Director of the Hollywood Film Festival.

The nominees for the "Hollywood Movie of the Year Award" are: DIRTY PRETTY THINGS by Stephen Frears, FINDING NEMO by Andrew Stanton, LOST IN TRANSLATION by Sofia Coppola, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL by Gore Verbinski, and SEABISCUIT by Gary Ross.

The nominees for the "Hollywood Actor of the Year Award" are: JAVIER BARDEM, JEFF BRIDGES, JOHNNY DEPP, TOBEY MAGUIRE, and BILL MURRAY.

The nominees for the "Hollywood Supporting Actor of the Year Award" are: CHRIS COOPER, ROBERT DUVALL, WILLIAM H. MACY, RAWIRI PARATENE, and GEOFFREY RUSH.

The nominees for the "Hollywood Actress of the Year Award" are: KEISHA CASTLE-HUGHES, DIANE LANE, PARMINDER K. NAGRA, CHARLOTTE RAMPLING, and EVAN RACHEL WOOD.

The nominees for the "Hollywood Supporting Actress of the Year Award" are: HOLLY HUNTER, ALISON LOHMAN, NIKKI REED, LUDIVINE SAGNIER, and NAOMI WATTS.

A Blue Ribbon committee of established Hollywood professionals selected the 5 award nominees in each category, and the winners will be chosen by film fans at voting polls at the Yahoo! Movies website, movies.yahoo.com/movieawards and at Entertainment Tonight's website, ETOnline.com. The voting starts September 29 and the winners will receive their awards at the "Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony" on October 20 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Last year's winners were the movie "Minority Report" directed by Steven Spielberg, actor Tom Hanks, and actress Jennifer Aniston, who accepted their awards at the festival's gala closing night "Hollywood Awards" dinner in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Prior years' winners have included Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, Angelina Jolie, Russell Crowe, Drew Barrymore, Jackie Chan, and Baz Luhrmann's "Moulin Rouge."

The festival will also present honors at this year's Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony to Columbia Pictures Chairman Amy Pascal, director Ron Howard, actor Anthony Hopkins, actress Goldie Hawn, producer Sydney Pollack, actor Orlando Bloom, actress Scarlett Johansson, screenwriter Ron Bass, cinematographer John Toll, editor Michael Kahn, composer Howard Shore, songwriter David Foster, animator Andrew Stanton, visual effects artist John Gaeta, costume designer Ann Roth, production designer William J. Creber, and casting director Deborah Aquila..

The 2003 Annual Hollywood Film Festival incorporates in its activities the Hollywood Film Conference, Hollywood Film Screenings, and Hollywood Awards.

This year's festival will take place from October 15 to 20, and will showcase a selection of prestigious domestic and international feature films, shorts, documentaries, and animation. The venues include the Arclight Cinemas for the "Hollywood Film Conference," and "Hollywood Film Screenings" and the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the "Hollywood Awards."
