The Hollywood Humanitarian Council™ was created to give a voice to the voiceless through the visual medium. It provides for the Hollywood Humanitarian Symposium™, which is comprised of panel discussions and screenings showcasing important social and humanitarian themes. In addition, the Council selects the recipient for the yearly Hollywood Humanitarian Award™ which is presented during the Hollywood Movie Awards®. Last year's recipient of the Hollywood Humanitarian Award™ was Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. José Ramos Horta. HFF's Public Affairs Liaison is Dr. Betsy A. McLane.
