Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Acting Award™ Honoree

Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn

Oscar®-winning actress Goldie Hawn made her feature film debut in The One and Only Genuine, Original Family Band, before she played opposite Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman in Cactus Flower, for which she won the 1970 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

She went on to star in Butterflies Are Free and The Sugarland Express, Steven Spielberg's feature debut. Other early films include There's a Girl in My Soup, The Girl from Petrovka, and The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox. She also starred opposite Warren Beatty and Julie Christie in the 1975 hit, Shampoo. In 1978, she appeared in Foul Play opposite Chevy Chase, and went on to executive produce and star in the 1980 smash, Private Benjamin, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

Ms. Hawn reunited with Chevy Chase in Seems Like Old Times and starred in Best Friends with Burt Reynolds. It was during the filming of Swing Shift that she met her partner, Kurt Russell. She continued her success in such films as Protocol, Wildcats, Overboard, and CrissCross. She co-starred in the hit Bird on a Wire opposite Mel Gibson, and starred in Deceived, Housesitter with Steve Martin, and Death Becomes Her with Meryl Streep and Bruce Willis.

Ms. Hawn's recent films include Town and Country, with Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Andie MacDowell, and Garry Shandling. In 1998, she re-teamed with Steve Martin in The Out-of-Towners. Prior to that, she starred opposite Diane Keaton and Bette Midler in the hit The First Wives Club, and was part of the all-star cast of Woody Allen's Everyone Says I Love You. Ms. Hawn was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance in The Banger Sisters opposite co-stars Susan Sarandon and Geoffrey Rush.

Goldie Hawn grew up in Maryland and trained for a career as a dancer. She made her professional dancing debut at the New York World's Fair in 1964-65 and remained in New York to perform in Broadway productions. That led to TV work in Los Angeles, culminating in her appearance in the classic comedy/variety show, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.
