David Foster

David Foster

David Foster has been nominated three times for Academy Awards, for his contributions to the songs "The Prayer" in Quest for Camelot, "I Have Nothing" in The Bodyguard, and "Glory of Love" in The Karate Kid, Part II. As a producer/songwriter, Mr. Foster is a 14-time Grammy Award winner with an unprecedented 42 Grammy nominations.

David Foster entered the music scene in 1973, and quickly established himself as one of the industry's premier keyboardists. During that time, he performed alongside such musical titans as John Lennon, Diana Ross, George Harrison, Rod Stewart, and Barbra Streisand.

Throughout the 1980s, he produced and wrote several No. 1 singles, including Chicago's "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" (Summer Lovers soundtrack), "Glory of Love" (The Karate Kid, Part II soundtrack), and John Parr's "Man in Motion" (St. Elmo's Fire soundtrack). Mr. Foster also produced platinum-plus selling soundtracks for Ghostbusters and Footloose.

In 1993, Mr. Foster was the year's top Grammy nominee with seven nominations, taking home his third award for "Producer of the Year" for The Bodyguard soundtrack. His producing credits include songs on such albums as Celine Dion's Grammy Award-winning Falling Into You, which spawned his two hit singles, "Because You Loved Me" and "To Love You More." He also produced Natalie Cole's Unforgettable and Barbra Streisand's Broadway and Back to Broadway.

Mr. Foster's recent credits include "Come What May" (Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor) for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, "I'll Make It Up As I Go" (Diana Krall) for The Score soundtrack, "Me Ire" (Alejandro Sanz and The Corrs), and "For Always" (Lara Fabian and Josh Groban). His feature film composing and songwriting credits include Carlito's Way ("Got to Be Real"), All I Want for Christmas ("All I Want"), One Good Cop, If Looks Could Kill, Pretty Woman ("No Explanation"), Stealing Home, Three Men and a Baby ("The Minute I Saw You"), The Secret of My Succe$s, Two of a Kind ("The Perfect One" and "Night Music"), and Night Shift ("Girls Know How").
