The “20th Annual Hollywood Film Awards” brought together Hollywood’s elite to honor performances from this year’s most talked about and highly anticipated films. The awards ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on November 6, 2016 and was hosted by critically and globally acclaimed actor, comedian and late-night talk show host James Corden. The Hollywood Film Awards, the official launch of the awards season®, has recognized excellence in the art of cinema and filmmaking for 20 years, honoring some of the world’s biggest stars. 

The Hollywood Film Awards honors some of the most acclaimed films and actors, as well as previews highly anticipated films and talent for the upcoming year. Additional artists are also honored in the categories of Cinematography, Visual Effects, Film Composing, Costume Design, Editing, Production Design, Sound and Makeup & Hairstyling. Its honorees have included the world’s biggest stars and more than 110 have gone on to garner Oscar nominations and/or wins.

With participating Hollywood insiders, our Advisory Team identifies and selects the recipients of our honors. Our winners are pre-selected to receive our awards. Our selection is based on their outstanding achievement and contribution to the art of cinema. They are not “nominees.”

2016 honorees included some of the biggest names in Hollywood such as Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, Robert De Niro and many more. Eddie Murphy was also honored with the “Hollywood Career Achievement Award.”
